With a recovery disk, one can return the computer to a previous or original configuration. The steps to create HP recovery disk slightly differ between different operating systems. Step 5 : After you insert the disc, the computer will start preparing data, buring data, and verifying disc. Step 6: Every disc will experience the same 4 stages. Then click Finish to close the recovery disc creation program. Step 3: The program will display the number of discs needed. Prepare them as required. Next up, you can reboot the machine into the recovery process. The app also offers you a backup solution in case you have not been able to backup your data, prior to this point.

This is optional and if not required, you can skip it and go straight to the main operation of reformatting the Windows partition of your hard disk, followed by the reinstallation of the original software.

Upon the app completing the reformatting operation, the PC restarts and the Windows operating system installation begins. We don’t have any change log information yet for version 5. Sometimes publishers take a little while to make this information available, so please check back in a few days to see if it has been updated. Hi, I need to download the Recovery Manager for windows 8 please, my laptop is the HP TouchSmart bea I had to replace the HDD and install windows 8, since doing this i have now managed to sort out the original HDD and found that the recovery partition is still intact with all the files needed to do a full Factory Restore, sadly i canot do this. Go to Solution. The HP Recovery Manager is not a downloadable product. It is delivered with all new Windows notebooks and desktops on the hard disk along with a recovery media creator.

The owner of the notebook is asked during setup if he or she is ready to create recovery media. It would seem that you forgot to do that. The following method was available from within Windows or from F11 during startup unless Windows was corrupt or the recovery partition was disturbed or deleted. If it is then you should temporarily reinstall it, boot to Windows and create usb recovery media by use of the HP Recovery Media creator.

Regards martin. I have found the RM in one of the. Type in recovery and then click on the recovery manager icon that appears. It can also be located and used via the Metro interface.
